This tower use the connection style of partly tube steel, angle steel, and steel plate , or complete tube steel, angle steel and steel plate.
Co***red with traditional angle steel tower, steel tube tower has dramatic advantage like less wind lift pressure, high strength, effectively reduce the tower weight and field force to tower base; besides, the tower has the strength of simple structure, optimized load-carrying capacity, distinct pressing design.
The 1000kV UHVDC double circuit towers use steel tube structure, which could greatly enhance the withstanding ability to natural disaster. Normally it is made from Q420 steel, weight could reach 2000tons, height at 140meters.
Advantage:
1. Increase transmission capacity. The capacity of the 1000kV UHV simple circuit transmission line is close to 5000MW, is about 5 times of 500kV power line
2. Increase the transmission distance. In the case of conveying the same power, farthest transmission distance of 1000kV UHV transmission lines is about four times the 500kV line.
3. Reduce line losses. In the case of the same total cross of the wires and the same transmission capacity, the resistive losses of the 1000 kV transmission line is only 1/4 of the 500 kV line.
4. Save engineering investment. The comprehensive cost of the unit transmission capacity of 1000kV AC less than 3 /4 of 500 kV transmission scheme.
5. Reduce the area of the corridor. Using the same type of tower design, 1000kV 1000 kV UHV transmission line corridor is about 1/3 of 500kV.
